Returning Spoiled Eggs

When I tried to take them back, I was told that I have to exchange with another 4 dozen eggs since I do not have a slip. I wanted to take something else of the same value as I had already bought eggs to replace them and did not want to have the same issue again. They refused and was told, there was nothing they could do.
