Eskort Diced Bacon underweight
I have three packets of 200 g Eskort Diced Bacon in my freezer - they have been there since purchase (from PicknPay). I took them all out to select the oldest for a dish. They are admittedly past their BB date - but they've been in the freezer the whole time. One felt a bit thinner than the others, so I weighed it - 121 g (BB 11 Dec '24). Then I weighed the other two - 126 g (BB 11 Feb '25), and 131 g (09 Mar '25)! It is surely not possible that sealed bacon can lose that much weight in the freezer over a few months? The 'youngest' package is only 12 days past it's BB date, yet it is still nearly 70 g underweight. All three barcodes are ***. I have photos to back all this up if Eskort is interested. What is going on, Eskort?

27 Apr 2025, 11:47I earlier (27 March) sent you 4 photos as evidence of the fairly gross underweight packets of Eskort Diced Bacon - three being unopened packets of diced bacon, and one giving proof that my scale was accurate. On 1 April I received a technical report from your Quality Team with their feedback. It was filled with 'assurances' that e.g. "product weights are being monitored and verified regularly throughout production" and "the scale (sic) used to verify the weights are calibrated annually by an accredited company and verified daily by a trained scale technician" and "Regular weight checks are done and recorded throughout the day", and further "During daily sensory evaluation of packed products, the weight of the sample packs is verified, and according to records no weight deviations were reported on the specific dates."
This is all very impressive, except that there is not even a HINT in the report of any acknowledgement that something obviously went very wrong on one of your processing lines that went unresolved for some length of time. Three packets of Diced Bacon (and there must have been many more on various supermarket shelves) were underweight by between 33% and 39%, a significant amount. With the evidence that I provided, that this happened cannot be repudiated. And yet Eskort admits nothing, and fills a technical report with all the impressive statistics of how wonderful their quality control is.
I am disappointed, Eskort. Very disappointed. You had a chance but missed the boat there, and missed a golden opportunity to come clean and placate a disgruntled customer.
