We've been waiting almost a month now.

About 4 weeks ago, in the middle of the night, my mothers TV set werent off on its own and made a loud noise when doing so. She realised in the morning that the TV and the microwave werent working. There has been a power surge at night and damaged the 2 appliances. My nmother went to the Eskom offices in Khayelitsha the same morning to report what happeneed. While myself and my sister were busy with the house chos, we had the fridge sounding like its switching off, my sister ran to switch off the main stove plug. In that moment, the second TV in my sisters room blasted, switched off and white smoke came up on both sides. We then called my mother to add on the list of the damaged appliances. They gave her a reference number saying that someone will come to assess the damage, no one came. She went back two weeks back and this time was told to wait to be called. The past Saturday night (10th June 2017, it was her birthday actually), all the plugs started not allowing us to plug anything. My mother noticed this before she went to bed when she wanted to plug the electric heater. The earth plugs in the box kept tripping. In the morning we realised that we cant plug anything on the plugs, suggesting that there problem was on the plugs line because the lights were working just fine.

Eskom needs to dosomething about this.....its a cold winter, its making it impossible now not to have anything to warm yorself with. Please assist.
