Waiting months for a new transformer while tenderpreneur are squandering Eskom's money.

Terrible customer service from Nigel Office. We reported a transformer that blew up in our area, Raditsila Street, Ext 5B Tsakane in May already. Its now past 3 months staying in the dark and Eskom Nigel is not helping us. They claim they appointed contractors and paid them, who then came and installed new meters and cables a month ago. But todate they have never come back to install the transformer that will bring back the lights. We keep collecting money from the community to travel to the Nigel office over the same thing since May but all they have is promises that never end. Their staff member keeps claiming they will come the next week yet they never do. We are going on 4 months now, Minister Ramokgopa and the CEO ntate Dan please need to intervene, we as ordinary citizens are suffering on the ground and being denied basic human rights. If its tender recipients that are not doing their job then Eskom needs to strip them off those tenders and give them to people who actually wanna do the work. We cannot go on like this., the lady we deal with in their office is Thuli.

Good day,

Old meter number: ***
New meter number: *** 9

The old meter number you keep asking for no longer works. It stopped working on 21st May 2026 when the transformer blew up and the old meters inside our houses have been removed, and replaced by new meters attached to the street poles. They also gave us new prepaid cards with new meter numbers, but we have not activated them yet as we do not have a transformer yet. I have stated all this on my previous email. If you need more information or clarification on this simply contact your colleagues at Nigel office, they are well aware of the issue. This back and forth is not helping anyone, except help me build paper trail to take the matter further to Nersa for intervention.

Can we please have feedback on this complaint. It is now yet another Friday and that means another week gone with Eskom Nigel and their Head Office doing nothing to help the people. We are once again left in the dark with no hope of when our lights will be turned back on. We have taken to the streets to protest with politicians taking a chance to strengthen their campaign for the upcoming local elections while pretending to bring service delivery closer to the people. I need an answer detailing what your office has done since the complaint was raised and what the hold up is on Eskom's side that is taking so long to fix.
