Unnecessary R15 000 fine for ******* connection

<p>I had tenant who moved out of my property and the requested Eskom to disconect. This was done by Eskom on Friday the 29th of April 2016 at 3pm. The tenant only moved out on the Sa****ay the 30th. After Eskom disconnected the tenant *******ly connected and left it as is when they moved on the Sa****ay. Eskom admitted that when the disconnected they saw the box was broken. My question, they new the box was broken, why did they not disconnect at the top of the pole? Surely this would have been the prevention to ******* connection and the fine of R15 000. Because they did not do their job, I as the owner of the property now has to pay this fine before my new tenant can have electricity. What an easy way to make money. Why did they disconnect in the box and not at the top of the pole? Note that this box is on the oppiside of a busy road and also not in front of the property. So unsafe when a box is open for anyone to tamper. Still canot understand why I have to pay this fine?</p>
