Power and generator and or bordom solution

While being forced to stay at my middle class parents owned accomidation and or secondary house, primary residence. Post university post employment

The electricity keeps going off at intervels of 1 to 2 hours once to twice a day and sometimes even twice in the early hours of the morning. Some days it doesnt go off. but today it went off from 6:30am all the way to 3:30 pm which is quite long when theres nothing to do at all.

Its less of an issue while sleeping however theres nothing to do in the residential areas which are mostly occupied by residential residents, malls, shcools and fields, and one old library and a park and like two pubs and 5 or so empty banks, a clinic, maybe a hospital, a fire station and two types of police so when the power goes off there is no automatic phase over generator and when I tell my parents to install one they won't get a quote to have a generator installed and they wont pay for the quote.

I know that there are generators because my uncle has a generator and his one cost like 180 000 Zar/Rand many years ago but my dad hasnt installed a generator.

Theres two types of generators. one is a electric one which charges while the power is on with like a built in capacitor which is large enough to retain the electricity for the duration f the shortterm power outage and the other is a gas and or desiel and or petrol powered generator.

I don't thin mounting solar panels all over the roof is the most asthetically please.

If anyone could privide some advice as to what to do during the power outages and how to resolve it because the banks also not working and I won't work and then when the power is off the laptop and or computers and electronic devices don't work either and the wifi doesnt work so can't even connect to the internet.

There does seem to be a smallish power station near the end of the road. its fairly new though, like built in the last 10 years. I don't know whats inside I assume capacitors. I am not quite sure how the power grid works I assume its similar to the gis maps application? On Blair Atholl Road, Is there a solution and or a fix?
