Give me a bribe or I cut your electricity

Hi there. We reported our meter as faulty. This meter was over 30 years old , with spider webs all over it. An Eskom technician came out on Thursday the 24th August 2017, and advised my brother that he believes meter has been tampered with as he sees a loose wire, it will cost us a 6000 rand fine and if we dont give him a bribe he will come and cut our electricity. Please note we called to have meter checked out, if we had tampered with meter will we call a technician to check if meter working correctly? My brother refused the bribe the technician. The next day Friday the 25th August 2018 he comes through and cuts electricity. We have so far called Eskom - according to call centre agent there is no note that our electricity was meant to be cut - or any feedback from this technician. They advised that there is no note of who authorised him to cut power. The call centre agent advised that they cannot assist us further. We have to wait until an investigation is carried out. Why should we wait?

This is unfair as we have not done anything wrong and due to the technician not getting a bribe we are left powerless. Will Eskom compensate us for loss of income - or offer us 24hour security until issue is resolved as we rely on electric fencing as security? My account number is ********** 460 The technician that wanted a bribe is Mlungisani Gambushe.

We reported the fault that we have no power another technician came out and advised that he has no authority to restore our power.

We are getting sms upon sms from Eskom advising that our electricity has been restored yet it has not been

Please advise further Thank you
