Eskom - The Modern Day Electrical Miracle
DAY1: Eskom power went off Thursday March 22nd 3pm. Logged the problem with Eskom at 6pm. Received a reference number. DAY 2: Friday March 22nd made two calls in the morning, was told that they are working on the issue. 3pm called again - was told problem was signed off as completed. We never heard from a single technician! Re-registered the power failure. 5:24 Called again - no technicians available! DAY3 March 24th Called again - said systems says technicians are "on site." But no one one site! DAY4: March 25th (Sunday) Called again 4:31pm - unable to tell me status. DAY 5: Called 7:58am, Called 8:05am, Called 10:03am, Called 10:55am, Called 1:47 pm, Called 3:37pm, Called 4:37pm each time tried to get a supervisor. Did speak to two supervisors but neither of them could solve the issue. "finally was told technicians from Lanseria could not find the site." (Even though site just down the road). DAY6 Finally got a call from a certain Christo 8:55am said he would fix it. He said the "pole number is wrong" (but we have no poles -the cables underground). I told him Eskom "simply needs to trip the switch in the box down the street. " 20 mins later power restored! About R1500 spent on generator petrol, no hot water for 6days, loss of food in fridges. What recourse is there for such poor service? Answer Zero! This scenario has happened numerous times!
