Eskom take responsibility for your failed service

Our house burnt last year and Eskom was advised to switch off our Electricity as it was a hazard, and no one was allowed to live in the house. In May we called and asked Eskom to switch the electricity back on and was advised the electricity was never switched of. They then switched it off and advised an amount needed to be paid before they will switched it back on. I paid a big amount, took them more than a week and a hellopeter complaint before i was contacted and electricity was eventually switched on. We moved back into the house on the 20 July everything was going fine. My electricty bill was in a credit. After a few months of being in a credit i noticed eskom was sending me the same credit bill every month. I would contact Eskom and advise, and ask what amount was due, because i am a pensioner and was going through chemo and didnt want to receive a shock bill. I was repeatedly told i owe nothing. I was the one to explain to Eskom agents to look at the bill date. Yet they still said i owed nothing. Come end November i receive a bill of R10000 and a few days later it increased to R12000 something. I immediately queried it with Eskom, was given numerous references and advised i would be contacted back after meeer reading was done. I advised that Eskom would need to sort this bill out as i did my part and asked, but was constantly informed my account is in a credit. I was paying my monthly bills every month that was due, unfortunately this month between myself and husband we both thought the other paid the account. And electricity was switched off. Knowing it was our fault we immediately paid the amount and reconnection fee. We have been on the phone since friday with numerous references numbers but no reconnection and no feedback from Eskom at all. Call center is useless as they cant even understand my complaint. Pls help i am a pensioner who needs my electricty back on and Eskom to take responsibility for the failed assistance leaving me with a massive bill i cant afford asap
