Eskom Rivonia Customer Care

1. On the 02nd/07/2019 we had an electricity cut at our area in Ebony Park Extension 1, Gwababa Crescent. 2. The problem was attended to on the 23rd/07/2019 when Eskom came and remove the bypassed metre boxes and unfortunately I was one of the people whom their boxes were removed. I was unaware of this until Eskom told me that my metre is bypassed. For your info, I bought this property from somebody in 2016 and she didn't make me aware the electricity metre box is bypassed. 3. Electricity was restored in the whole area and we were fined R6052.60 by Eskom which i paid the next day on the 24th/07/2019. 4. I was advised that after payment, it takes Eskom 24 to 48 hours to restore electricity. 5. On the 24th/07/2019 I was asked to send the Proof of payment to Eskom's email address and I was given the reference number for payment as *** which according to Eskom, it’s my account number. 6. I then waited the whole day after sending an email without response. 7. Every time I phone Eskom I am told that my area is a 'red zone' as there is riots at my area and their staff are not safe. 8. That to me was understandable but my problem is, I see Eskom vans coming to my area to install electricity in an area they call a 'no-go' area for staff safety. 9. There is electricity supply in the whole area except my yard and I still don’t know their reason for not reconnecting my electricity. 10. My neighbour paid electricity on the 30th/07/2019 and his electricity got restored on the same day. 11. On Tuesday, the 30th/07/2019, I went to Eskom Rivonia Customer Services to speak to the Manager there who tried to resolve the matter and I was promised that my electricity will be reconnected in the afternoon on the same day, the 30th/07/2019. 12. Today, the 31st/07/2019 I am still waiting for Eskom to restore my Electricity. 13. I find this to be against my human rights. If I knew that my electricity was bypassed, I would have reported it myself like I did with my water metre where City of Johannesburg fined me R10 197.00 which I am paying in small instalments. 14. I know and understand the contents of this statement and I seek your assistance. 15. I have got nowhere to go as I cannot afford expensive lawyers. 16. The only thing I need is for my electricity to be restored and my name cleared off the list of the bad apples who bypass electricity as me, myself didn't involve myself in the act. 17. I only bought a property from someone who was ******* and didn't want to pay for services. 18. I am a law abiding citizen and it pains me so much to see people having electricity while I don't and when I ask Eskom to restore electricity in my yard I'm told they can't come to my area because my area is a dangerous zone, 19. If it is true that my area is a dangerous zone, why was it easy for my neighbours to get their electricity restored by Eskom personnel? Why is it unsafe only when they have to come restore electricity for me?
