Eskom need to train their staff
I would like to thank Colleen ( I hope I got the spelling right). She is stationed in free state call centre. She is very resilient and love what she does and not because of salary. I have never seen someone who is doesn’t let anything get on her way. Today our electricity was down. When I check with my neighbor I realized I was the only one affected. We didn’t know what was the problem until we learn that Eskom moved us to prepaid without training us on the new system. I bought electricity vouchers and tried to load them since from morning but I was unsuccessful due to error 30. I went to three Eskom office around Soweto and alberton. No one could assist me in all three Eskom office due to covid 19. Eskom call centre agents could not help. The two Eskom agents are storm and Siyabonga (I stand to be corrected with the name of siyabonga). The two agents kept on logging calls without troubleshooting the error. Siyabonga even promised to escalate the matter to his team leader. Then later I got the call from Colleen who was helpful and willing to go and extra mile when her colleagues were having best time of their lives doing nothing. Colleen two colleagues logged the call and advised me that someone will phone me back after 7 hours. They were disinterested that I have a condition that requires my medication to be in a freezer. But when I mentioned this to Colleen she promised to help me no matter what it takes. Indeed Colleen was brave and showed care and respect. She could put herself in my shoes. If government can hire people like Colleen I promise you service will be top notch. May the lord bless this soul. Eskom need to have better business process for their call centre and training is important. Eskom must look at the time it takes to answer the phone and how the phone is answered. Some people are working at Eskom for salary not to serve the people of South Africa from the length and breadth of this country. I was very upset and until Colleen phone me all the way from free state while Gauteng people don’t want to work. I was under the impression that Colleen she’s the team leader cause of Siyabonga
