Eskom must hold to account employees who fail to service its clients
For a financially strapped business Eskom is really doing injustice to the very few people who have continued to legally use electricity by buying it legally.
On Saterday 27April 2019 I noticed that my Meter device was nolonger displaying on its screen so that I couldn't see how much power is still left, after pressing the digits a few times I decided to revisit the Meter the following day to see if there is any change and it was still not displaying, I then contacted the Eskom cal centre and reported the matter and was given this Ref: ********** 61, and was assured that it would be attended to within 7 hours. And within 4 hours I had a respondent in my hour but he only looked at the Meter and claimed that he didn't have a long enough ladder to attention to it so he will return the following morning (Monday) at 9am.
Monday evening he still haven't returned and upon calling O was told that the call was closed, meaning on their side it was sorted, I informed them of what happened and demanded they inform me of who closed a call that was not sorted and they could not account saying they cannot access that information from the call centre.
Tsepiso mohadime from the Polokwane centre then provided me with a new ref number ********** 68, and escalated the matter to the supervisor stating that I asked that the supervisor call me as I was on a call for more than 30minutes then waiting for her to attend to me.
More than 30 minutes later the supervisor whose name is Kentsane Mbhenyane has not returned my call so I was now forced to make another call and was informed that the ref number was even forwarded to what they call an "Emergency Folder" and whoever was attending to it was surprised to call me but they didn't. I then layed a complaint and was given a new ref number ********** 09 and was assured that Eskom will attend to my matter the following day, that is Tuesday the 30th. Tuesday evening I had to call again as the Meter was still not attended to, and this is at the backdrop of a querie that I made December 2018 and followed it up till I gave in as it was costly calling Eskom and being on the love for more than 10minutes withiut talking to anyone only to be promised a lie.
Ref: ********** 62;Ref: ********** 12; Ref: ********** 15... These are all new reference from Tuesday evening and again I was promised that I will have someone attending to the Meter I waited till 10pm and it was no show.
The big challenge is that should my units end right now I would not be able to load new ones and will be left without electricity not because I didn't buy it but because I can't load it. I want to know who closed the cases I logged with their call centre because between sunday and today 2 calls were closed yet the matter has not been attended to. I want to know that if Eskom cannot service the few people who are buying Thier electricity how on earth will they be in a position to service South African if just 50% of those who don't buy started buying and deminded to be serviced. I want to know when will we be treated fairly and with respect as so called valued clients, I want to know of Eskom will reimburse me with all the minutes I spent from Sunday to Tuesday calling them and not receiving the requested service.and I want to know why am I still sort Ng with a Meter that doesn't work after 3 days of constantly reporting it.
