Eskom Land – Bushes growing out of control

<p>My husband and I are struggling to get Eskom to maintain their land which is directly behind our house. There are bushes/trees growing taller than our vibracrete wall which is around 2.1 meters high and hanging over the fence. We have called them numerous times to remove the bushes but we are being passed around from person to person, department to department and no resolution. This has been going on for about 1 year. We have had 3 break in’s into our house due to the bushes. This happened in a course of 3 months!!! The bushes are preventing anyone from seeing intruders jump over our walls. We have suffered great financial loss and have had to insure our household goods and implemented high security measures to keep our property safe. Now that it is spring, the bushes are blooming and the seeds are falling into our backyard. My husband and I are suffering from hayfever, which he especially never suffers from. We have been married for 5 years and this is the first time I witnessed him suffer from sinus/hayfever problems.</p> <p> </p> <p>I would like Eskom to step up and maintain their property as it is inconveniencing our lives and we are suffering financially. The Eskom land referred to is by the Kraaifontein Sub Station just behind Buh Rein Estate and Cara Estate. They need to also understand that it is a fire risk, to the sub-station and our properties in Cara Estate, especially now that it is spring and summer coming up and in cape town is very popular for veld fires</p> <p> </p>
