Eskom exasperations
Account number *** KF Balzun. If there was a zero stars I would have chosen that. Why not change to 5 red and 5 green, with red the usual sinner side and green the angel side. More effective as to denote level of annoyance!? I have retired 1 December 2022, but remained as a consultant until 31 December 2023 at which date my company email address had been deactivated. Since mid November 2023 I have also used my present email address which is *** (my name and surname). The moment my new email address was activated I started using it in all my correspondence. Since then on www.csonline.eskom.co.za "Accounts, Payment or Meter Related Complaint" complaints were left multiple times left a complaint on the site which is supposed to be the "complaints" site (there is a compliment section as well, but I doubt it has ever been used). We have NO idea what our monthly accounts are. We are not allowed to open the "locked" metre boxes to take our own readings. We have been to the local Eskom offices (Nelspruit, Mpumalanga) multiple times. One is not allowed to enter the premises. One has to ring a bell at a security gate in the perimeter fence of around 2.5metres high. One is not allowed to enter the actual office part. Now you have to wait for however long it takes a "person" to crawl/slither to the fence. Average time in my experience around 20 minutes and my wife and I have a close to too much experience. The crawl slitherer person saunters to the fence, mostly accompanied by an wafting overwhelming Kentucky Fried Chicken odour. You state the problem. Reply? "Wait, I do not deal with problems. I'll call Soandso". KFC turns around and disappear. Ten, twenty minutes later Nando's arrives at the fence. Nando sc****s of few notes on a lonesome piece of paper. "Wait" Go inside and as all the consequent Nando's and KFC's parade which is, to be fair, not more than four to five people doing "fencing". The regional office can also not render telephonic or email assistance, but they are in Witbank and I am three hours and some minutes from there. Both my wife and I implore the brave knights of Hellopeter to cut off the head of the Eskom snake, proverbially of course (after you have sorted out our problem...).
Thank you so much for your attention and time. All of the best, Kurt Balzun
