ESKOM: ALMOST THREE WEEKS WITHOUT ELECTRICITY – UNACCEPTABLE SERVICE!

I am extremely angry and frustrated with the service we have received from Eskom.

We have now been without electricity for two full weeks and are entering our third week without power because of what should have been a simple meter pairing issue.

On 21 August 2026, an Eskom technician came to install a meter box and provided us with a keypad meter to load electricity. The problem? The meter was not paired.

Since then, we have repeatedly been told that a technician would be dispatched within 7 hours.

My question is simple: How many 7-hour periods have passed since 21 August?

Surely the technician who installed the meter knew that it needed to be paired and activated. If he could not complete the process himself, why was the relevant department not contacted immediately?

Instead, we have been left without electricity for weeks.

What is even more shocking is that today, 5 September 2026, Muriel advised us that no technician had even been dispatched.

So after all the waiting and all the assurances that someone would attend within 7 hours, we now discover that nothing was even dispatched?

This is absolutely unacceptable.

We have had to throw away a significant amount of food because it spoiled. We have experienced financial loss, inconvenience, stress and an enormous amount of frustration — all because Eskom has failed to complete a basic process.

Why are customers being treated like this? Why is nobody taking ownership of the matter? Why must we continuously follow up for something that should have been resolved weeks ago?

I am not looking for another generic apology or another promise that a technician will be dispatched within 7 hours.

I want ACTION.

Eskom needs to urgently:

* Pair and activate the meter. * Dispatch a technician immediately. * Explain why the meter was installed without being paired. * Explain why we were repeatedly told a technician would be dispatched when, according to Muriel, no technician was dispatched. * Take accountability for the unacceptable delay. * Provide a firm timeframe for resolution.

Almost three weeks without electricity is completely unacceptable.

Eskom, please stop giving customers empty assurances and start taking responsibility. We need our electricity restored immediately.

I expect this matter to be escalated to someone with the authority to resolve it and provide us with a proper response.

This has gone on for far too long.
