Endless power cut offs

Good day, 6 months ago my parents living in Orange Farm ext 8A had a power cut off. We logged calls to request power back, follow ups were made and up until today there is no electricity. How do people cope for so long without power and yet they are paying customers. We were told its transformer issues, however I do.not understand why it would take so long to replace a transformer. Eskom does not care about its customers and I am so disappointed in the type of service we are receiving. Some electrical appliances are affected and no longer working, will Eskom reimburse those customers? Eskom is not responding and we need power back as soon as possible.
