Electricity problem in Mhlumayo Area in Ladysmith

The community of Mhlumayo has submitted several requests to Eskom to look into the matter of electricity. We experience challenges with power outage every time when it's raining or there is minor wind. This means that our electricity does not have sufficient power or capacity. Even when there is an outage, sometimes it takes 2-3 days for Technicians to arrive to restore electricity. This causes a lot of damage to our food that we keep in our fridges and some have to throw our away the last food bought with their own hard earned money. The majority of households are very poor and can't afford to buy groceries more than once a month. The turnaround time to restore our electricity is caused by the fact the Depot which is servicing us is Estcourt which is about 2,5 hours away from us ,whereas we are under Ladysmith which is just less than 1 hour to our area. We request Eskom to urgently look at the above matters and assist in providing an amicable solution.
