Dissatisfied customer
I have lodged an electricity issue on the 15th of November, I was told a technician will be sent to my house. Today is the 25th of November and the technician is still to be sent to my house. Ever since I updated my meter I need to call Eskom to be able to load electricity, this has been going on since May. I bought electricity of R500 on the 2nd of November and until this day Im unable to load it. I have been calling the whole of last week, speaking to Zanele and explained the dire situation at home. My mom is a pensioner who stays with 2 toddler kids aged 1 and 2. The 2 year old has asthma and uses an electric nubiliser.
They ran out of electricity last week Thursday, i explained this again to Zanele who stated that she will have the supervisor call me. Im not sure if there is no sense of emergency in my issue Im that it is ok to leave a pensioner with 2 toddlers without electricity in which one of the toddlers uses a nubiliser for health purposes?
I even asked Zanele must I bring the box myself to my Eskom branch to have it sorted out? She told me the technicians will come? Must there be a health scare before my issue is sorted out?
Please advise where I can escalate my issue as I feel like currently my matter is not being attended to. They seem to forget that their number is not a toll free number and they make us wait for hours only to cut our calls. I even asked Zanele whom I have been speaking with the whole of last week how she would feel if it was her own mother who’s a pensioner with 2 toddler kinds in which one suffers a chronic condition, she dropped the call in my ear. This thing of upgrading meters brings more problems than solutions and Eskom employees seem to be unbothered as they have electricity. They just don’t care about the rest of us. I don’t blame people who are busy buying ghost electricity and other things because at least they don’t have to deal with such poor service.
