Complaint Regarding Ongoing Electricity Outage in Harare Section 38, Khayelitsha

To Whom It May Concern,

I would like to express my disappointment and frustration regarding the ongoing electricity outage in Harare Section 38, Njezu Street, Khayelitsha, City of Cape Town.

Since Sunday, our community has been without electricity during the severe Level 8 storm conditions currently affecting Cape Town. The situation has become extremely difficult and unacceptable, especially considering the dangerous weather conditions we are facing.

Residents, including myself, have made efforts to report the matter and have even gone to the Khayelitsha Eskom office during the storms to seek assistance, but the issue still remains unresolved. Families are struggling without power for basic needs, safety, warmth, and communication.

We urgently request Eskom to attend to this matter as soon as possible and provide clear communication regarding the cause of the outage and the expected restoration time.

Your urgent intervention in resolving this matter would be highly appreciated.

Dear Eskom Team,
Thank you for your response.
Please note that this is not an issue affecting a single household or meter. The electricity outage affects the entire Njezu Street and surrounding areas in Harare Section 38, Khayelitsha.
The whole street has been without electricity since Sunday during the severe Level 8 storm conditions in Cape Town. Community members have already reported the matter and visited the Khayelitsha Eskom office, however the outage remains unresolved.
As this is a community-wide outage and not an individual account query, we kindly request urgent intervention and feedback regarding:
  • the cause of the outage,
  • whether a technical team has been assigned,
  • and the expected restoration time.
Residents continue to face serious challenges without electricity, especially during the ongoing severe weather conditions.
We would appreciate your urgent attention to this matter.
