Caiphus Rakganya - an unreliable ‘electrician’. Shoddy and costly job

Caiphus Rakganya was contracted by Emmy Muzamil Muwonge to provide electrical expertise during the construction of my house. He made mistakes with placing pipes at the right places from the word go. He almost never comes on site and would always send his students. He would never even supervise them properly and all the while he would be reassuring you that he would work with you until the project came to an end and would even provide after care services should need arise.

He took money and disappeared needless to say, I am still fixing his poor electrical work to date and pray that my house doesn’t burn down as a result.

The new guys I am using are telling me that up in the ceiling where the electrical pipes run, it’s a real mess. In the DB boxes, wires were lose and had to be redone. Earthing was not properly done either and in some places hung lose. That is so unprofessional for someone who claims to have worked for Eskom.

Don’t pay for material which will be under his account at JDL because you won’t know if he is using that material at your house or elsewhere and whether he is using bad plugs or not. Almost all plugs I had paid for and he supposedly collected and installed in my house don’t work. I paid thousands down the drain. What kind of an electrician installs and doesn’t check if plugs work or not immediately. By the time I realized that there were problems with plugs, DB boxes and other issues, I was informed by JDL that they were past the guarantee period. Be ware of Caiphus Rakganya. Very unreliable. I wouldn’t recommend him.

Once again, I don’t know if he did all his poor workmanship because he worked for me as a woman or this is his general way of conducting business. Be ware!
