Buy property but must work on previous owners acc

I bought a house and are struggeling from 10 October 2015 to change or open my own electricity account. Apparantly I must work on the previous owners account. I have send e-mails with proof that the property is mine but no use they've got policies to work from and can't help me. I must take the long road??? What that mean I don't know.
