Bad Service
I know most of South Africa dread load shedding but when you haven't got power, you don't mind getting load shedding. We bought a small holding with no power, so we had to fill in the forms and apply for a connection from Eskom. R32 000 later, we were advised that the process would take 6 to 9 weeks. 10 weeks later, all that has happened is that a contractor came and dug 4 holes for the poles. According to Eskom, they are awaiting the tar poles. I understand, they are specialist poles, 8 meters high, which are not easily available, however, Eskom has had my money for 10 weeks and could have ordered the poles weeks ago. I was advised that there is no timeline as to when the poles will be received and after the poles have been put in the ground, a further 7 or so working days are required for them to switch off the transformer, to join our connection. So, what happened to the project being completed in 6 to 9 weeks, we're looking at a further month or so. Is that fair to someone that has paid the connection fee in full? I'm so disappointed and in desperate need of electricity, our lives are on hold because we don't have power. Come on Eskom, get the job done and soon.
