BAD BAD BAD SERVICE
So I have been trying to get my grandparents meter number registered so that they can buy electricity through cellphone banking or internet banking since last year(2016 November), I get told that I should try buying the electricity in two days and that the meter number will be registered. What puzzles me is what is the difference between registering an ESKOM meter number in JHB and EC(Rural areas) if the service provider is ESKOM. I have logged several calls and I get to be given new reference numbers that I cannot keep count of. The previous ref numbers that I was given are ********** 32 and ********** 26. For some reason the calls I log keep getting closed with no reason or resolution status.
My issue is that electricity can be bought in one place (POWER) in Engcobo. If they are down that would mean my grand parents have wasted R100 from their pension fund on transportation and to be honest this is just ****EN BULL**** service given to people with low incomes and just pure exploitation .
I was home when I initially called, I was asked by the agent to give them a meter number of our neighbor, the number on the pole and all other ****TY info, I say **** info because clearly that exercise we did for an hour was just ****EN waste of time and airtime.
This is the life that people from Eastern Cape have to deal with, No one can buy electricity from their phones besides that Power place which I believe is run by people with lots of tenders like the Guptas.
I am sure that this will also go unnoticed since I am not a known citizen. ESKOM and its EMPLOYEES ARE JUST BULL****.
