Bad experience at Farmstay

We used to stay at Erin Farm near Middelburg EC whenever we travelled from Pretoria to the Western Cape 0n the N9. It used to be a pleasant experience, but the last time we stayed there was on 26 March 2020 - the day before the lock down started. We were traumatized by several factors leading up to our travel: selling our house to relocate to the Western Cape, travelling on an extremely busy high way with so many people rushing home before the lock down, lack of petrol on the way and the manager of Retief Transport calling and instructing us to reach Bettys Bay before 14:00 the following day. The manager was extremely rude and would not listen to my reasonable explanation that we would only be able to reach our destination by 17:00 the following day. In the end the truck was also held up by the heavy traffic and could not reach us on time before the lock down. The matter was settled the next day amicably by another person from Retiefs. My traumatic experience did not stop there. We reached Erin farm around 20:15 and after unloading our luggage and having supper we eventually got into bed by 12:00. I then realized that I have dropped my diamond ring somewhere in the room after having showered. I searched everywhere but could not find it. It was very dark in the room. There was no time to search again the following morning because we were under immense pressure to get to Bettys Bay asap. My husband and I called the owner of Erin farm several times afterwards explaining the situation and begging him to please look for the ring. I might add here that it was a very valuable diamond ring. The owner was not helpful at all. The last time I spoke with him, I could here that he was totally not interested in my problem. He actually told me that his wife also lost a ring and that I had to accept it as one of those things.... He never confirmed that they actually looked for the ring or asked the cleaning lady. It really sounded very suspicious. On top of this, although we had additional coverage for the trip, Outsurance did not grant a refund. So I suffered a huge loss, both financially and also emotionally because it was my engagement diamond ring! It was a unique ring made by Erich Frey in Pretoria and worth about R70000. Maybe someone picked it up and is either wearing it or sold it. I did not file a ****** item report with the police because I have no proof that it was indeed ******. I will never ever recommend Erin farm or stay there again.
