BIG RIP-OFF!!! STAY AWAY!!!!!!
I was transferred from Lenmed Randfontein to Leratong Hospital (a distance of 12,5km) in February 2019 in an ER24 AMBULANCE. In September 2020, 19 months later they phoned my husband telling us we had a bill of R5 125.00 and we had to pay immediately or else they would hand over our account to debt collectors! Mind you there was no prior communication, no invoice and neither did I sign anywhere to commit to this trip. I was shocked; such a short distance and I did not even receive any medication in the ambulance. I was also fully awake and conscious and my husband was present with me. There was no mention of any invoice or anything we had to sign to acknowledge that we would be able to pay. Had we known, we would have even used Uber to go there. They said the minimum payment plan without interest was for 8months, paying R640.62 per month for 8months. This is **************** and I am hurt because this is too much money and the fact that they call and threaten you without even providing evidence of prior contact.
