Furious !!
In my life I have NEVER been so disgusted with so called Ambulance service as I was on 21 May 2015.
I phoned ER24 at 5:45 the morning of 21 May 2015. My mother was bleeding internally, vomiting blood. She could not stand on her two legs anymore.
The 2 paramedics did NOT carry her out on a stretcher. Instead, one lifted her under her arms and one under her knees, carrying her down the stairs. She hurt herself when she fell. This method of transporting only worsened her pain. They took their TIME. My mother vomited again - the one paramedic asked ME if I have a tissue. My GOD!! Do you people not have the BASICS in your Ambulances??? He asked me if I have WATER. You CANNOT stabilise a person who has internal bleeding in an Ambulance - you need to get to hospital ASAP. My mother continuously begged them to get going.
They left just before 6:45. I left 6:45 from Wapadrand to Kloof hospital.
They did NOT switch on the sirens - my mother begged them to do so.
I arrived at the hospital BEFORE the Ambulance.
And I have to PAY for this appalling mistreatment.
One of the paramedic also sneezed in my mother's face.
I will NOT accept this kind of behaviour towards my mother.
