ER24 unfairly punishing employee

OKAY SO HERE IT IS... My boyfriend has bean working at ER24 for the past year. He's done so many extra shifts and late nights that you can't even count them anymore. The past couple of days he has had a bit of a rough time. He accidentally reversed into a pole and another car ( with no damage or injury to the ambulance or the passenger ) in an emergency situation . ER24 now wants to charge him for the excess on the ambulances. I do not feel this is fair! The accidents happened during his working hours. Not only is this *******, but ER24 is supposed to help us when we have an emergency not punish the paramedics for doing their job under emergency circumstances.
