Disappointed
Admins please delete if not permitted. Yesterday, Saturday 20 May, my father in law passed away from cancer and I needed to get a paramedic to do a declaration before his body can be removed by the funeral company. I first called 112 and the lady the answered was very rude and told me to call the number that she provided. I called that number for the government ambulance service and as usual they did not answer. I then tried ER24 and was told that they can not assist as my father in law in not on a medical aid and he is not part of the ER24 network. I then tried calling Netcare 911 and after a long process of obtaining my pin location I was told that they do not have a vehicle available in the area. I then tried Emer-G-Med and was told that they require R1000 in cash to come out and do the declaration. Thank goodness we finally managed to get a ER24 ambulance to come out and do the declaration. There was a wonderful ILS paramedic on board that did the declaration. After chatting to this paramedic I found out that he worked for the government ambulance service and was working overtime with ER24. I am very disappointed in the service I have received from the companies. I thought been a service provider was about treating people and not about money or who has a medical aid
