On the 9th of December I arrived with an ambulance. On my ambulance report it clearly gave my allergies, on arrival I was seen by a student nurse who also put my allergies on my file, the was even a neon orange sticker where my allergies were written. Dr sent me the off for an xray, before that the sister on duty (sister Louise) gave me an anti inflammatory, after coming back from xrays I couldn't breathe, it was around the time Dr's do their shift change, I was put in a room to wait for the Dr (Nokulunga Mkhize) - I waited close to 20min while they were all having a fat chat about how their day has been. Went to where they were sitting and got Nokulunga Mkhize's attention - she nodded and carried on with her day. Later about 10min after telling this Dr I can't breathe, another nurse came (Keisha Mientjies) -friendly as they come and she put me on a nebulizer. The first one didn't work and she put me on a second one that one didn't work, I started to panic because I couldn't breathe. The oh so nice Keisha lost her cool telling me I need to calm down, I watched the Dr's and other nurses looking at me as though I was seeking some kind of attention. Anyway long story short I left there worse than what I was. Following day I went to the pharmacy to get my script, on my script it stated "No allergies" and I remembered that I was given an anti inflammatory in casualty and that's what induced my asthma to one I had never experienced before, on my prescription there was medication with ingredients that I am allergic to. I could've died in that casualty because they gave me that anti inflammatory and pretended like I was mad. If I didn't ask that pharmacist about the meds on my script I would've taken those meds and have round two of a hectic asthma attack. I got a call from the actual casualty in Life Mercantile about this and I still have not heard from the Dr's. I can't afford to sue nor do I have the time because I have to be back at work.
