ER Consulting & Holt and Partners - massive accounts FAIL

Great, awesome and professional assistance from the emergency medical staff at Kingsbury medical center in Claremont, would give the staff 10 stars if possible. But believe me I will never ever attend, use or recommend them for any medical issue again due to the Putrid, Abysmal, Delinquent, Horrible, Disgusting, Despicable, Degrading, Unprofessional, ********* bordering on ********...not enough time or space available for the words I want to use to describe their accounts department. And it seems that I am not the only client who shares this opinion as echoed in the reviews. A year ago my son had an emergency and we rushed to Kingsbury, as stated the emergency staff were of the best caliber and I have nothing but praise for them but what did set off some flags at the time was that while we were admitting my son there was another lady prior to us who had just brought her colleague in due to her collapsing at work...she was speaking to the lady at reception and was informed that her friend had an outstanding bill of +/- 3K which had it been known prior to her admittance she would have been sent away...mind you the collapsed friend was comatose. Personally I felt that there was some justification in what reception was saying as I feel that if a service has been rendered then it should be payed for period. But .... then I look at my experience with ER Consultig / Holt and Partners and currently NuDebt Management and my blood starts boiling, I literally see red. To summarize...a year after the emergency I start getting threatening sms's and emails about immediate settlement or face black listing within 24 hours if account not payed...my response.."What the Fudge???!!" I am on medical aid and realize that there is certain procedures that is not covered which I am liable to pay, which I will gladly do as stated before if a service has been rendered then it should be payed for. What urinates me off is the fact that in the 12 months after the service was delivered, I have not once been contacted via any means at all by ER Consulting....no phone call...no email...no invoice via post..no nothing and suddenly out of the blue I get all these threatening sh#t ...which tells me that ER Consulting has had my contact details all along and did not bother to inform me about outstanding debt...these idiots from their accounts department submit the bills to the medical aid and when it is not paid they leave it and bunch it into a nice pile which they they categorize as "BAD DEBT" They make absolutely no effort to contact the people who owe them - they have all the necesary details to make contact - and conveniently hand these accounts over to a debt collecting agency ie NuDebt, who after receiving these accounts automatically treat you like a a bad debt defaulter and resort to scare tactics to get freakin payment, which you never even knew about. Just recently I got a sms and a email saying if I dont pay the R202.50 outstanding within 24 hours I will be black listed...They are probably just doing their job the best way they know how and my issue is not with them...but the idiots at ER Consulting accounts will have decent law abiding debt paying clients blacklisted for sums as little as R100.00. Which would be fair if there was a refusal to pay, but to start receiving *** emails and sms's after having them not even try to contact you is disgusting. And the cherry on top is...you suddenly start to get sms's and phone calls from loan agencies who you never gave your details to...so how exactly does the POPI ACT work or does your privacy become void when your debt gets handed over to a debt collecting agency? Could go on ranting but it would be a exercise in futility...all I wish to say is if ever you have to deal with ER Consulting or Holt and Partners...then DONT!!
