BEING HANDED OVER TO THE LAWYERS IN 2 MONTHS AND WHILE PAYING OFF AN ACCOUNT. HOW DOES THAT MAKE SENSE??!!

On 12 June, my son had an incident with hurting his arm. We went to the ER and had Xrays done and everything went smooth(the hospital staff was the best! ) We went home and obviously the bills came. I had billed accounts of which my medical aid covered, but my medical aid did not cover one of the costs and i was left to pay a sum of R900 and something. At first i was thinking it was a glitch on the medical aid side and they weren't paying what they were supposed to, so i was going back and forth with them but it ended with me having to pay it. I recieved mails and calls from ER consulting Inc. To pay the balance. So on 15 July i paid a R100 to start somewhere. 01 Aug, i paid a R200 to just make it get less and i was going to pay it off that way. Come 20 Aug, i recieve a letter from ER Consulting Inc handing me over to the lawyers for failure to pay or comply.. and that i have 20 days to pay the balance of R600 (the amount came down because i paid but i was handed over anyway) So i called them(ER Consulting Inc) and asked why i was handed over but i was actively paying.. the lady told me i didn't call to make a payment arrangement and then i told her does it really matter if I'm actually paying it to the right account because the amount is decreasing??.. then she told me they only keep accounts for 3 months before handing it over to the lawyers.. from 12 June, to today 27 August... nowhere near 3 months.. and now i have 20 days to pay the 600.. which i don't mind.. but the way they handled it was very unprofessional and very poorly. I wish i didn't have to deal with them.
