Refusing to give us our money back

In May we bought rim machine from EQUIPMENT AFRICA. We paid cash which was 69000. Few days later we went back we demanded our money back. The owner told us no refund. We ask on what grounds he said he already use the money. He gave us 35000. After a month he told us it was loan. My question is how can he loan us our money.
