Eqstra cannot pay for a recurring car overheating

my car had a problem of overheating, i took it for service at VW hatfield at the beginning of September, they replaced the water pump because it was leaking, but after few days the car was overheating again, i called VW and they advised me to re-book the vehicle, they did the diagnosis but cannot find the fault. after 3 days they called me to come and fetch the vehicle but a day after the overheating was very bad that i could not even drive for 1 KM. i took it back to VW and they found out that the Head gasket need to be replaced but Eqstra declined to pay for the vehicle the reason being the recent service which i did was done 5 000 after, i called EQSTRA and explained that this problem occured long before i even took my car for a service, its a recurring problem, after explaining this EQSTRA told me that VW must be held accountable and they should pay because its a workmanship, and they advised me to go to the Ombudsman to lay a complain against VW which i dont understand because this should be between VW and EQSTRA. I sought legal advice and i was told that i should lay a complaint against EQSTRA instead not VW. as a customer when i take my car for service i do not know what the problem is and EQSTRA is the one that sends the assessor and even pay VW so let it be ,all i want is for my car to be fixed.

i would like to thank EQSTRA for thier prompt response in this regard, they did not take time on friday to sttend to my concern and they have been calling almost every hour trying to figure out what happened, but i still have not found closure to this matter, my car is still at VW and they will soon start charging it for the night it spends there.
