Putrid services and ********/hidden costs
Yesterday 16 August 2022, myself and my husband were approached by 2 ladies from EPS through the door to door sales process. We were kind enough to let them in as the initial engagement mentioned that they would like to advise on how to save on our electricity bill. We allowed them to pitch the presentation and answered a few questions. During this pitch she makes mention that we would be helping her greatly if we purched one of these systems immediately.. With a permanent position as they are in competition for 5 permanent positions. The pitch we done so well that it sounded amazing.. As it would to many others. She said that it would only cost R13 000 to which I responded unfortunately I do not have that kind of cash laying around. I must say these guys are very pushy and intrusive as she asked if I do not own a credit card to which I said not as this is non of their business. I then asked what was the possibility of a payment plan then to which she then said no but by then end when she then called in her supervisor or whoever... Who will be "evaluating" more like sealing the deal.. When I asked him about a payment plan he then was able to "work something out"... I was still not happy with the prices and asked if I could think about it. He rep**** if I do it will be normal price R15 000. Nevertheless, we signed and agreed.. When they left myself and my husband spoke as I was already sceptical just based on how pushy and persistent they where we decided that we will be canceling this deal... My husband emailed him within an hour after he left saying we'd like to cancel. He did not even have the audacity to respond. My husband called him this morning to confirm cancelation which he then tried to pursuade my husband otherwise... After numerous emails no response. We even emailed the office with the pink slip we got and confirmed that no money exchanged hands but still no answer.
When I arrived home today 17 August 2022, I asked my husband if there where any news he said no. I then attached all communications and emailed them once again saying that we would like to cancel and that I needed feedback before any deductions and installations are done but still no answer. The sales rep then has the nerve to show up at my home as my husband was leaving this evening to do shopping and try to bully my husband into changing his mind however he still looked for me as he must know that I essentially have the last say to try and persuade me. Luckily I was I available at the time. He then told my husband well we will still be liable for the 25% cancellation fee. My husband said he will speak to me but he still wants the cancellation done. I was furious when he told me this. I then referred back to the pink slip that has the cancellation terms on and it stated that it will cover petrol, admin fee, depreciation, bank charges, labor and installation costs. I then sent another email saying that admin cost yes as they "processed the application with the bank" but why should I pay for the other things when I did not even receive the system let alone call them for a quotation or call out to my home so how can they charge for petrol when I didn't call them, labour when the job wasn't done, bank charges when no transactions were made, depreciation when the item was not unboxed at my home nor was it installed. I am yet to receive a response.
