******* deduction of commission from tenants deposit

We moved to Cape Town in January 2017 and rented a house and requested a 12 month lease. . We were promised by Engel & Volkers that the rented premises would not be sold in the ensuing 12 months .We inserted a clause that we were not be given notice in the first 6 months and lo behold on the expiry of 6 months we were given 2 months notice. As our house is still 5 months from completion we could only secure premises if we took occupation immediately . After a long drawn out discussion the landlord waived the additional months notice. HOWEVER Engel & Volkers deducted the equivalent of 1 months commission plus Vat from the deposit which I believe is *******. There was no damages and the landlord authorised repayment of my deposit after I forfeited R9000 to get out of the lease. After numerous requests for repayment I have had no success with my refund. I am not sure who to approach for the Full refund as it is probably not sufficient to take legal action for the recovery.
