Engel & Volkes lost keys refuse to replace keys

Irresponsible Engel & Volkes

We have been clients of Engel Volkes for probably over 2 years. They rented our house in Cedar Lakes, unfortunately the tenant stopped paying the rent, we got them out, but in addition to this they left the house in a bad state so we had to spend money to repair the damages.

Even after this, we still kept them on as agents. In consideration I felt they could still keep our house key which would make it easier for them to show The house to prospective tenants.

We were about to sign a lease, so the agents asked for the air con remotes as well as the garage door key. I had left a bag with the garage remotes, the air con remotes, a set of keys that had the front door key as well as the garage key. The agent collected from a family member as I wasn’t in the country.

A few weeks later I ask the agent for him to return the one set of keys as I would like to organise the **** to come and give the house a clean. The agent returns the key ( the first set of keys). When I ask about the second set, he proceeds to tell me he doesn’t know of the second set of keys. How irresponsible are these agents, they receive house keys and proceed to loose the keys. Engel & Volkes is now refusing to replace the keys the agent lost. I would like to put out a warning please do not use Engel & Volkes not only do they place bad tenants, once the tenants are in and you’ve paid there commission that’s the end of there responsibility, but also be aware that should they loose you’re keys they will not take responsibility, not even replace the keys they’ve lost. For all I know they could have given the keys to a mate, and before I know it I have squatters in my house . BE CAREFUL - NO SERVICE - all they want is the commission.
