The stresses of traveling with Emirates

Going 'home' for Christmas! WHAT A STRESSFUL HOLIDAY EMIRATES HAVE CAUSED US!

This is the first time I have ever posted on here, or even publicly complained about a service, however we find the service (or lack thereof) received from Emirates with regard to our missing luggage appalling to say the least, and really would like to bring it to the attention of unsuspected holiday makers using them. One of our bags was delayed for 3 days, and the other bag has been MIA now for over a week now. The bag which was delayed was said to have been received the day we landed, however this was not the case. With regard to the other bag, we have made numerous calls, and received various versions of the truth at least twice a day and each time a different response and feedback on the status. No one at Emirates can give us a status on the whereabouts of the bag or even its location when it was last scanned. Even to this day, Emirates have continuously **** and never once confirmed that the bag is lost and we can replace our lost and ****** items! We have been made promises to receive return phone calls on the status and to date have not even received 1! We have travelled from the UK to South Africa for Christmas, our bags filled with gifts and holiday essentials. Not only have we arrived empty handed, we have not been able to replace the items in the bag which we have lost as we all know how much strain travelling puts on our pockets, and we are unsure if we will even get reimbursed! We are unable to enjoy our holiday and missed precious time with family that we have travelled so far to see as we have had to worry about this TRIPE EVERY SINGLE DAY! We have cancelled plans to stay home and wait for the bag which was promised to be delivered the next day and never arrived - more than once. We are so disappointed at the lack of support and client service we have received from Emirates, while we do understand luggage goes missing; it’s the manner in which our situation was dealt with. We dread our return with them, and next time we are looking for a stress free holiday we will definitely be avoiding Emirates!
