TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH EMIRATES
STRANDED ON CHRISTMAS EVE WITH EMIRATES AIRLINE STRANDED ON CHRISTMAS EVE – EMIRATES WORST EXPERIENCE
I have booked flight tickets to India Via Dubai through what was known to be the best airline, Emirates! Such a terrible experience, service with the staff was the worse. These people have a job and it’s their duty to make sure you get the best customer service, but some of them are plain arrogant and stubborn with no assistance. It was 9 passengers travelling 24 December 2023 The lady from Emirates counter refuse to accept my passport due to it been a little loose due to few stitches loose. The passport was still in one piece and this was renewed just last year. The passport was only handled by these people at the counter when scanning. We took the passport to OR Tambo Immigration who advised absolutely nothing is wrong with it and Emirates just had the issue allowing me on this flight. We had no accommodation or vehicle. Been Christmas eve we had to find a place close to the airport to stay with all the luggage we had been 9 people traveling. My passport was taken to every other airline in the airport and they thought this was a JOKE Emirates was playing due to the passport been in-tacked. I was in tears as not even a home affairs were open to get this matter resolved until 27th December 2023. I requested a letter from Emirates to state what the issue is so it will be easier notifying home affair what the issue is. They again refused to give me one. There was one lady who claimed to be in-charge that was stubborn and refused to help in any way. She acted as though she owned the airline and not just work there. I have travelled with this airline for years but will never suggest anyone to. Other airlines are cheaper and definitely the best I would say. Christmas day passed with us still staying at Southern Sun across O.R Tambo. We managed to get flights to depart 26th from the same airport with a different airline Air France, Qatar, Kenya and Ethiopian airlines all wanted to assist but due to longer layover and losing many days only Kenya Airlines could assist with no more loss. We left with friendly staff from Kenya Airlines 26th December and returned 9th January 2024 More leave had to be taken from work, more funds needed to be outlaid and extra accommodation and car hire etc. all put us into so much more expense due to Emirates unfairly decision of not allowing me to fly. Besides this airline not having an issue with my passport, we did 4 internal flights in India which Spice Jet and Indigo airline also had no issues all went like a breeze. Been in another country made me concerned as the experience I had in South Africa with Emirates, but all went so well. I did eventually go to the home affairs and only to find out if my Data page could scan on my passport document and I have a valid Visa the airline should not deny me entrance. If there’s an issue in immigration, then they will stop me not when I am at check in counter they deny access. My passport in not even a year old and this matter was not called for. I expect some feedback and I have proof all documents whatever you require. A holiday for 9 passengers was destroyed and been stranded on Christmas all because of Emirates is a matter to take into consideration asap. A VERY DISTURBED TRAVELLER
