Emirates can learn a thing or 2 from other airlines
as a first time flyer on emirates I was very disappointed after all the things I heard about emirates being such an upper class airline.
1. The smiles on the hosts/hostesses are so **** anyone can see through them (I understand you are on your feet most the time and that it is long trips, but hey, we all got jobs we goto do and have to try have pride in our professions)
2. The food - "chicken or fish were the 2 choices on the menu, but you dont have chicken" - really now - not all of us eat fish, so hubby and I both could not get a meal because we dont eat fish. (and dont dare dose off when they serve breakfast, as they just skip you then and when they have past you, then they dont go through the que again)
3. our bags all got damaged - both our big luggage bags wheels managed to get broken off as well as the frame of one of the bags.
4. hubby left his phone behind in the front pouch in the plane when we got off the plane at dubai airport. They refused to let him turn around to go get it, and no one was willing to assist. We had to continue walking and was told none of the staff can go check his seat to pass him the phone, but we could go to the reception desk at the airport and report it lost. We did exactly that (it was a 6 hour wait for our connecting flight) - at the reception desk they said they can not contact the staff on the plane so we need to wait and check every 30 min if they have finished cleaning and bringing through any lost and founds. We did check every 30 min and they kept saying that no one has reported anything. Eventually we had to check in and board for the next flight and no answer from anyone. We started contacting them when we landed in SA and they confirmed that they have a phone but we had to send through alot of info to identify that the phone belonged to us and then they did go the extra mile to have the phone sent through to Cape Town airline at no extra cost to us. For that we are appreciative yet it could have been avoided if anyone had some way of trying a bit harder to communicate, yet it was not their fault as we should have checked that we had taken all the items that we brought in
