Broke my brand new suitcase for no reason - didn't bother to get back to me with any details...

I recently booked and took flights with Emirates (which was my first Emirates-flights), but when landing back in Cape Town I at first didn't find my suitcase, only to realize when just about everyone else had received their luggage (about 30mins later) that my (brand new - literally 1st trip ever taken) suitcase and the clothing and toiletries that was initially packed in the suitcase was now (roughly) thrown in a plastic bag along with the broken suitcase that was clearly roughly forced open between the zips with a sharp opject or perhaps a pen or somethong of the kind (which was visible at 3 different areas). I fully understand if routine or random checks needs to be taken on luggage for security purposes, but it's for that very reason that I went and spent close to R2000 on a proper, endurable suitcase which has a TSA-universal-lock which they can open easily without having to force anything open or break the suitcase without any reason. The cherry on the top was that even though the zips was broken during the process of being forced open, they also did end up unlocking the TSA-universal-lock - which made it clear that it wasn't necessary to have had broken the suitcase! Emirates will probably just push the blame to the "independant" airport luggage companies, however the reason why I'm posting this is not just because of me now having to go and buy another suitcase after having been able to use the other one for literally only one trip, but also because of the fact that they failed to just have the expected decency on following up on the "claim" that I had to put in for a new suitcase at the airport - after having been delayed in the airport for more than an hour in order to sort out the mess with my suitcase and for them to first be able to take photos thereoff etc, all to no avail... for the amount of money they charge for flights that's simply just not good enough...
