My wife and I fly Emirates at least twice a year and on the last two trips our baggage did not arrive with us.
Our decision to fly Emirates is always price as the layover in Dubai can sometimes be long. Price alone is not going to result in loyalty to the airline if their baggage issues are not resolved. The last time round we had four pieces of luggage and only one arrived at OR Tambo with us, how does one piece get on the flight and three pieces not?

I collected the remaining 3 pieces the next morning as I did not want to wait for the courier service. At the collection point there were at least 20 pieces of luggage belonging to previous Emirates flights. I was informed that there are always baggage issues with Emirates flights.

There are many reasons why Emirates is a good airline but the stress and potential problems that can result when baggage does not arrive makes the decision to choose Emirates difficult.

The first problem was when we flew to London and our cruise left next day. It is stressful when there is a possibility that you board a two week cruise without your suitcases. Our suitcases were delivered to us in time but it is not a comfortable situation.
