Appalling service from Emirates over Baggage claim

Arrived back from London to Durban to find my Samsonite hard suitcase smashed to pieces. After 3 and a half weeks of back and forward I have been offered half the value of suitcase. This was a new suitcase but because I filled in the form at the airport on arrival (after 24 hours of travelling) that I bought it in 2021 they are reducing the amount for wear and tear. Unbelievably bad service and no-one picks up the phone when I try to call.
