NO BILLS SENT BUT MY ACC WAS HANDED TO LAWYERS

Good day<br> <br> The finalisation of my property was done in April 2015- I personally went to the municipality to ensure that the rates are registered in my name, settle any outstanding debts and arrange how my bill should be sent to me.<br> I haven't received any bills since then and had to ask a family member to collect my bills for me. I have also phoned the municipality to arrange for e-statements and the lady I spoke (in Sep) said this will be done. To date NO bills have been received yet the municipality is quick to hand over my acc to debt collectors. I no longer live in the Vaal and therefore cannot just go to the municipality.<br> Is there anyone competent at the municipality as this is unacceptable? Street lights are also not working in the area (Riverbend gardens) yet we pay rates. What are we paying for if we aren't getting the service??<br> <br> Please, someone look into this.<br> Thank you and Regards<br> Lerato
