Emerald Life Insurance Sucks!!!!

If you intend on taking a policy with Emerald life, don't do it!!! if you have taken it already, brace yourself with the unprofessionalism that will follow after you have lodged a claim, especially if you covered an extended family member with a surname different to yours. So I took a policy on my sister that uses a different surname, the burial was on 21 May 2023. The burial date came and passed without any meaningful communication from Emerald life. The only communication I received before the burial was to send a picture of the death certificate (which I had submitted with the claim). I had to borrow money to contribute to the funeral expenses. A day after the funeral, my sisters received calls from one of their agents enquiring whether I contributed anything to the funeral, what I bought, my relationship with the deceased, the reason why I might have covered her (basically nonsense questions). I received a call a day later from the same agent "confirming the information they received from my sisters". One of the questions that stood out to me was "why did you cover her" and "we ask these questions to make sure that you did not have anything to do with her death". And when I asked when will I receive a pay out the agent made a sarcastic comment saying "mmh, you're in a rush to get the money neh". At some point he hang up on me.

To cut the long story short, I received money that was meant to pay for my sister's funeral 9 days after the funeral.
