Declined funeral claim

I lodged a funeral claim insurance with Emerald life for my girlfriend's brother, I gave in all the documents they needed to process a claim but still decline , worse part of it I borrowed money from one of the family member to contribute for funeral to proceed smoothly, now I can't return the borrowed money because of emerald...please help me ...my number is ***
