This company closed its branch in Port Shepstone without notifying us as clients. I visited the branch to find the company closed and there was no note on the door. I managed to later get an email address to send my claim and it was declined because apparently they received a number of claims of my niece's life. We as the family were not contacted to validate claims as it should be when the life assured is covered for more than the company is willing to pay. If the company pays R50 000 max on each life, why did they accept this plan at New Business stage. We as the family believe whoever claimed for my niece is not in any way related to us and we demand to know who they are and how much they contributed towards the funeral and how they got claim documents. So much so that people who had insurable interest were refunded premiums and Emerald Life paid strangers to the family.
