Bad business or what?

My late dad had and my mom still have a policy with Emerald Life Funeral policies of which the installment is R135 p/m which was/is deducted from their old age pension monies every month as soon as the money was/is in their bank account, I was the beneficiary on my dad's policy and me and my mom didn't even know about it so when my dad passed away 2 years ago my mom tried to claim from Emerald but they send her an email stating that my dad's policy lapsed though the bank statements reflected that monies was deducted even a few days after my dad's passing. As said, I didn't know about being the claimant myself untill almost 6 months after my dad's death when my mom told me so I send them an email and they just rep**** with a forwarding reply from my mom's claim, exact wording as it was send to her with her name and all, stating that my dad's policy lapsed. After some consultation I requested the date and reason it lapsed since debit orders still went off after my dad's passing but have'nt heard from them yet since last year. Please advise in this matter since I'm not interested in the money but only saw this after I send them an email according my mom who wants to change her beneficiary since her's is still on my late dad's name and neither I via email nor she via ph received any reply from them yet after 2 weeks.
