Forget about Morocco!

We booked a holiday from 23 August to 2 September at a five star resort in Morocco, bought air tickets for the flight and app**** for a visa by sending our passports and duly completed application forms on 25 July by courier to the Embassy of Morocco in Pretoria. Despite endless attempts we could never get through on the phone. We also tried to contact them by email and through their website. Only once did they react to our request for more information by informing us that we can pay for the visas when collecting them. All other attempts to get a progress report and desperate pleas when it seems we were running out of time went unanswered. Then on Friday 17 August at 16H55 we received an email informing us that our visas are ready for collection but in the same email we were warned that the Embassy will be closed from Monday 20 to Thursday 23 August (the date of our departure). Needless to say, all firther attemts to obtain our passports to be in time for our flight were unsuccessfull. We lost our holiday and suffered great financial loss. But here is the clinsher! When we eventually collected our passports, what did we find? No visas!

I complained about our treatment on their website with the usual result - no response. I tried to complain to their Minister of Foreign Affairs but their website do not recognise any local postal code and rejected my correspondence.

Please people do not go to Morocco! They do not deserve your hard earned tourist budget. The Embassy is a disgrace and should be ashamed of themselves.
