************ and dishonest practice
Nico Van Onselen came to me at my request to do a quote for my retirement. I specifically over put first phone call said I wanted to invest money and open a retirement fund.
The day he came to see me the first thing he said me to me when we sat down was " Either you go with me or you don't , if you don't sign with me today I don't want your business" . I feel a financial planner should give you time to think decisions like this through but he comes off with such a terrifying tone that you feel scared to disagree. He also made it clear that if he doesn't manage all my accounts he doesn't want any of them. He started everything out by using scare tactics. He then took me through life cover policies and retirement annuities.
I signed afterwards as I thought I was fully informed but I was not . He did not cover everything and all my payment options for the life cover , he never explained that I cannot switch to another life cover policy. He also had me sign a document saying I am liable for 8 hours worth of administration fees that he will charge me for if I choose to pull out of my policies after inception . This man has NOT done 8 hours worth of work on my profile . He also charges R500 for a profile book that he doesn't even inform you about before coming to meet you.
I asked him to put the life policy on hold as I was informed that he did not cover all the bases and sold me things that I do not require. I asked him to move forward with my retirement policy he said he is not going to.
I received a call the next day where he informed me as discussed that if I don't take the life policy he will not work with me and will move forward to claim the commission that is due to him for both policies over the next 24 months. I was also told to sign a agreement for this measure if I chose to cancel the policy after inception. The forms were not even filled in for the life policy when he arrived nothing had been submitted to the company and he made it clear over the phone that he will not be going forward with my documents until I agree to take the the life policy as well . Therefore it the process has not began and he is the one putting an end to our work agreement as I still wanted the retirement plan but he is denying me the right to get the process rolling .
This man wants to charge me for work he has not done. He wants commission for a policy that I have not even app**** for because I emailed him a few hours after he left saying to stop the process (he left here at 4:30 and so he would not of been able to submit anything till the next day) and he phones and intimidates me but won't dare to do so over email. He also insisted on a medical question that "no" be ticked off on a block where I said it should of been yes . He then also inserted a date for symptons last present where I said it should be a year later. This is dishonesty on my policy document encouraged by a financial planner . I am a 22 year old woman , I was not sure on how to correct him as he had already used ************ from the moment he sat down.
His words were "I do not want to do you in" on the phone call but he is making it clear that if I don't take the life policy he will not work with me and will do me in.
I thought he was a good guy until family members had pointed out everything he did not tell me and the unnecessary things he had me covered for. The minute I challenged him he showed his true colours . Do not mistake his kindness or "contract" for innocents and self-protection.
He is not a good man . I would not be writing a review here at 10:30pm if he was.
He is dragging the EMB's group name through the dirt with his ********* behavior . He is using scare tactics and ************ to get sales and it is absolutely unprofessional and disgusting .
Do not use his services , don't even bother calling him.
If you don't do what he wants he will chase after you and intimidate you to try and get what he wants .
