Do the right thing ELNA - u brake it you pay for it

Dear Mr De Vos

It is with much dismay that I write to you today for assistance.

I am the proud owner of three Elna machines, that I look after and treasure.

On the 14th November 2016, I sent my Embroidery machine in for a service at the Cresta Branch in Gauteng. They sent it to the technician "Mike" for the service, with instructions to please look at the bobbin winder as it is not winding the cotton evenly. We then got a call to say it is ready and collected the machine. On stitching the first project the machine was making a strange noise and it jammed all the thread. We then returned the machine to Cresta and asked them to please have it seen to, and asked again to please have the bobbin winder seen to as this was still not sorted. We were then informed that it could be the way we wind the bobbin, .... the machine winds the bobbin.

On the 18 th we then once more got a call from the Cresta branch to collect the machine as it is ready. On collection and inspection my machine was found to be damaged. Pictures attached. The technician was called from the store to inform him of same. Mike then informed us that he would have to replace the bottom base but it would take about 2 weeks as he would have to get parts from Cape Town.

I then phoned the offices in Johannesburg and spoke to Belinda the area manager for Cresta. She informed me that the manageress from Cresta would take the machine to her and she would have it checked and ring me on Monday morning with feedback. On Monday 21st November 2016 Belinda called me and advised that she did not think it would be good for the machine if we replace the bottom part as all the operating parts are based there, She said she would have one of her technicians look at it and advise.

Later that day I rung her to find out what was the way forward and she advised that maybe they could just have it painted over.

I got a call from Mike today informing me that he is returning my machine to the store and that he wont be doing anything to it as I don't want it painted.

Please note:

I paid thousand of rands for this machine.

It is now damaged, depreciated, (I have no faith in this machines as I feel that he could have damaged my machine inside.)

I do not want my machine just painted.

I am currently bul**** into accepting this, which frankly I wont accept.

I want my machine returned to me in the condition I handed it to your Elna Branch, failing that replace my machine.

This matter has caused me much stress and agony ....... even tears.

I would like a loan machine to complete the work we are busy with as it is for my sisters first grandchild. The baby shower is in 2 weeks time.

I attached pictures for your reference and ask for a speedy response please.

We were informed that my machine was damaged taking it out of a shopping trolly.....this I find very hard to believe. Did he perhaps drop it???????????????
